The plug can be left connected to the DIC if its difficult to remove.
The screws are torx #30, use the driver in the trunk. Use loctite blue on screws when refitting. Do not over tighten.
Plugs torque to 19-20 ft.lbs
Blow or VAC plug wells to remove dirt before removing the plugs.
Put some moly grease on plug threads. Do not use metal flake loaded anti-seize in locations where it can migrate into the engine or lube systems.
Gap plugs to .035 - .037"
Use 6ES plugs for normal tuning. 7ES plugs can foul in many applications as they run too cold to burn-off deposits. High performance mods will work better with the 7ES plugs.
Many folks have tried other plugs and many substitute plugs foul in the turbo applications. Best recommendations is to use the plug suggested. If you can't get that plug right away, wait until you can get them.
BPCR6ES or 6ES11's, the only difference is the gap that it comes with in the box.
These recommendations cover 1994 through to the 2002 T7 models. There are NGK platinum plugs for $12 each if you like, no real advantage. The platinum plugs should not be used in high output modified engines.
