Just returned home from a nearly 4,000 mile vacation trip. Bottom line... a 5-door Viggen makes a fantastic over the road hauler!
We weren't sure how we'd manage as we rarely drive more than 3 hours anywhere. But this was a cakewalk. Piled on 3,900+ miles in 12 days through Nebraska & WY deserts, and Rocky Mountain roads... everything from sea level to 12k+ ft elevations. Through deserts cruise was set at 85mph. Car was never babied and still returned just over 30mpg avg for the duration. And that's with 2-1/2 people (inc our amazingly easy going dog) and a cargo hold stuffed to the brim. The odo is now at 73k miles and other than finally needing a brake job this car still seems new. Kudos to Saab!! I want to head out again!
