In a 60/40 mix of highway/city driving I'm getting around 22mpg with a 5 speed. My car has 125,000 miles and I've recently put it new plugs, air cleaner, and fuel filter. I keep my tires inflated and use Shell mid-grade exclusively. Even when I drive very gently it doesn't seem to make any difference. Is this normal? I hear people on this board talking of mileage in the high twenties and even low thirties. What can I do to improve it?
