Actually, all convertibles tend to bend in the middle back and forth and up and down anytime you hit a bump since there is no roof to stabilize the center of the structure. In addition, the lack of a roof means there is no cross structure so if, for example, the right front corner hits a bump then the right front corner of the car bends a little in relation not only to the back but also in relation to the other side of the car. This is the cowl shake part. The 6 point brace tends to add some structure on the bottom that helps stabilize the movement of the front portion of the car. They get rave reviews.
You feel cowl shake on rough roads, particularly on turns with washboard surfaces. You get use to it after a while and it seems normal.
