Similar thing happened on my 1999 93 with 133K miles about 5 weeks ago. Light came on with no change in performance, starting, sound, etc. So, I figured it was a sensor so I was in no hurry. A few days later the light went off for a little while, then came back on. A few days later it went off and has been off.
I don't know if this had anything to do with it, but I had just stopped using straight 87 octane, and started mixing 87 and 93 50/50 (Costco only has 87 or 93). Buying the cheaper stuff use to really save money, now it only increases the price per gallon by 3%, so I'm probably getting it back in better mileage/performance.
