From your question, I infer that you would consider changing to 15 inch. In order to do that, the whells as well as the tires would have to be changed. The expense would be more than your dealer will be willing to absorb.

The advantage of 16 inch is that the sidewalls have less flex, so the car is more likely to go where you point it.

You could try to negotiate for a set of Michelin Pilot Sport All-season for about $650-700 installed. Your dealer might like the idea of a set of Kumho Ecsta ASX, at about $400 installed. Both are reasonable high-performance all-season tires.

If you're planning to wear them out in 6 months, I think cheaper is better.
