I am actually "leasing" one of my cars to a friend. 1993 Saab 9000 CS.
His Intrepid's Timing belt tensioner let go and wiped out his valve train.
He has driven my car for about a year (I charge him $100/month) he now is going to buy the car (so he says)for $2000.00.
In the time while driving it, he didn't feel like repairing a broken exhaust hanger and a month later he lost the rear muffler and intermediate pipe. (he paid $300.00 to repair)
He drove the car so hard (train tracks)that the right CV joint fell off the axle, wheel and all and dented the fender/door ($500.00 repair for axles, did not repair fender/door)
Also the rear brakes need replacing (I gave him the rotors/pads when he first took the car, he still hasn't put them on in a year)
For what its worth, if its your baby than baby it, or sell it. cause if you are going to take the vehicle back, you'll have no idea how much wear and tear was put on the car.
I drive MY Viggen HARD, but its' MY CAR. I also maintain the car, and keep it running TIP TOP.
If you quit your job a year later, you can always buy another Saab? a Viggen or Aero.
Hope this helps your decision. BTW I have 4 Saabs.
