Hmmm, sounds like the MC is going, I believe the clutch springs should force the pedal back up, you may want to try a clutch bleed, maybe air got into the system. Is your hydraulic reservior full or a bit low? If it is low, try filling it and keep the clutch pedal depressed 3/4 overnight with a piece of wood, most times the air will free itself as long as there is fluid to displace it.
