I must first say that most of the problem list i had was covered by extended warranty i purchased to 100k.
I had a question regarding the timing chain. This is my 1st Saab.......previously had 7 years of VW Passat's....Anyway, I was so programmed to change the timing BELT on the passat every 60-70k. I took this with me when I bought the Saab and figured it's the same or close. So at 99k i asked my dealer about a timing belt chain. He said there is this new timing belt package for Saabs, dont know exactly what was in this package. He said he'll put down that i was hearing a noise near the chain area and it was replaced. I figured belt, chain...they need changing every 70-80k.....and my question is, i probably didnt need to do this? The chain must be good for a long while??
