It was the manually adjusted type of cable and I think I initially may have had it adjusted so that the clutch was partially disengaged with the foot off the pedal. It seemed to run fine though for quite a while. When it started slipping I let the cable out so that now there is a little slack with the foot off the pedal and it still slips. I think I might have damaged the clutch surface by driving around with the cable misadjusted for so long. Any thoughts about the 9 inch clutch plate?
