Engine stalling after high RPM

2002 9-3SE 118K miles. I've just replaced the timing/balance drive + oil pump/timing cover.
The engine seems to run very well after about 10-20 seconds of starting it back up. (We poured oil through the oil cover to ensure the camdrive was well lubed) idle is quiet and stable. The car is probably as quiet as it was new. However.....
When I drive it, it appears fine. However, if I accelerate fast, I notice 2 thing: The turbo gage goes into red and the engine cut out. (stalls, requiring a re-start.) Also, even at idle, in park, if I floor it, RPM goes up fine, but on the way down, it drops to ~600rpm and usually stalls. No CEL or anything... Car starts back up like new again...
Any ideas? I took off and reinstall so many things that I don't know what can cause it... (I'm suspecting air related....perhaps the funny joint between the turbo and the intake? (opposite the turbo-exhaust)...
Any ideas?
On a unrelated note, the heater-fan also died.. (I've read up enough on that to diagnose it... Its either the fan or the control module...)
