I think I posted to your last message. Sorry if I made it more confusing.
I put two 10"s in the trunk in a box. I used a new amp.
There is a factory (or dealer) installed amp in the passenger side kick panel of the center console.
There is a 8 pin DIN connector that runs from the head unit to this amp. Ideally, you would tap into here and install RCA connectors and run them back to your amp (assuming in the trunk too as mine is).
I did not have an 8 pin male and female to make the proper tap-in harness.
So I connected the speaker-level inputs of the new amp to the output of this very same factory amp.
I connected here since they are subs (sort of) in the doors and full-range speakers in the back seat of my convertible.
I might be missing out on a little bit of the lows since I'd imagine that the amp I tapped into has a cross around 100hz. Not sure about this.
As I mentioned before, you should stay away from tapping into the speakers in the dash as they have a much much higher crossover point.
I suggest to you that the rear speakers (even in a non-vert) have a crossover built into that amp, and if so then it would be at a higher crossover frequency that that of the amp that drives the front door speakers. Wheeew
I think this may be even more confusing than my last post to you.
