If this isn't a loaded question... :) Your car is capable of running off of most anything. The APC system can dial back the performance of your car if you choose to run it off of lower octane gas. With my car, there's a noticeable decrease in performance if I use regular, but not enough of a difference between mid-grade and premium to warrant the price increase, so I use mid-grade. I know others use mid-grade, too, but quite a few others only use premium, and guys here even spring for really high octane stuff. As for the brand, the differences really come down to the additives they use. The History Channel had a great show a while back talking about how everyone's gas gets mixed up in the pipelines, so there's no difference until the companies add their own additives.
