In another 15-20k or so the front strut mounts will probably be groaning during slow parking maneuvers and the front suspension will get harsh....but you may not mind this much if it rarely sees the highway. Take it out on a long drive this summer and enjoy the fruits of your labor.

Since you've already pumped your savings into it, you'd make out poorly on a trade-in deal. Better to sell independently -- if your mechanic was seriously interested, I'd gladly top his offer by $100 just on that vote of confidence.

Try not to bang it up -- from my experience, your most imminent threats in Cambridge are from the parking scrapes and door dings.
