I searched the library here like a good boy, and found a similar problem to mine: I have a 96 900s NA and on startup, for the first couple minutes, my idle drifts from 1500 steady for 5 seconds, then down to 1000 steady for 5 seconds, then up to 1400 steady for 5 seconds, then down to 1000 steady for 5 seconds, then 1300 then 1000, then 1200 then 1000, then 1100 then 1000, then 1000 steady and i drive away as normal.
What the eff?
Travis replied to the previous poster saying: "air leak, air leak air leak!" probably around the evap canister. which I take it is under that plastic plenum by the throttle body. i am going to upick from a wrecked 900s today, and i will pick any valves and hoses off of it i can, air intake mass air, hoses, what does the pcv valve look like? i read that every other week here somebody's has failed. i've never replaced mine but should. i'll try to keep it to $20 worth of plastic bits to randomly replace things on mine. of course new is better, but when you are shotgun shot replacing bits at random, that could be expensive troubleshooting right?
