Because there really is no such thing as good, cheap work.
If you want good work, call Gary Blake Saab in Exeter, NH and see who they use. Woodworth in Andover has their own body shop and I won't trust my mechanical work to them, so I definitely wouldn't trust their body shop. If you don't mind traveling, Village Collision in Brookline is Charles River Saab's body shop, and they do great work. My car is going there for a visit next month. And it's right near the T so you could get home easier.
If you want cheap work, there's a place in Methuen, Best Auto Body that does cheap, honest work. I didn't say good work, I say cheap work, and they won't screw you. They know Saabs. They did some work on my dad's former E-class. Similar situation as yours, it got clipped in the rear, and he used the insurance money to fix that and some other things (RUST!). They were the only body shop that would fix it all for the amount that the insurance gave. The paint work I'd rate as pretty bad (TONS of overspray, blending was bad), but the bodywork itself was decent. My dad didn't care because he knew he was getting rid of the car, or else it would have gone somewhere else. I'm sure there's other places around that do Saabs...call Yankee Garage in Merrimac and see who they recommend.
So, beware, if a place is cheap, it's probably not going to be good. The best work often comes from a dealer body shop, but you'll definitely pay the price.
