I have not heard of that in a Saab engine but anything is possible.
What I think they mean is that the crank shaft have too much axial play.
If it is true, it is quite a bit of work to drop the oil pan and replace the main bearings.
But as I said, since I have never heard about it in these engines and can only assume that maybe something else is the culprit for the problems and they have just guessed their way to that conclusion and if so, it could be something very easy or something even more expensive.
I would not buy it for those money without having a Saab mechanic look over the car and maybe find out more about the "crank walk" problem.
