Roof Rack Question

It has been about three years since I posted a message to this forum (moving to NYC and driving only once a month now has something to do with it), but here goes:
I need a roof rack for my 2002 9-3 SE 5 door with the primary goal being to carry two bikes on top. Here are my questions:
1. Do they still make the Saab load bars for the 2002 and earlier modesl of the 9-3?
2. I know the load bars used to be compatible with Thule mounting accessories - is this still true and I am in anyway limited to what Thule fork mounted racks I can attach?
3. Are the Saab load bars compatible with the Thule (or Yakima) fairing? I hear the fairings help with noise reduction.
4. Am I better off just getting a full Thule/Yakima system? Saab load bars I believe are alot cheaper.
5. I want to mount the thing with the two bike trays and leave it there (I can't imagine wanting to take it off and I will have nowhere to put it if I did). Any problem with this and does this influence which system I go with?
Thanks in advance and sorry for the many questions.
