Having taken the care for a test drive with a tech friend, he noticed that the RPMs seem to actually rise for a brief moment after the clutch is engaged, then take longer-than-normal to come back to normal levels before shifting's allowed. This happens in all gears, including some testing we did at idle then pressing the accelerator in my driveway. He's suspicious of a vaccuum leak, but nothing was apparent in a quick look-over, and was interested in me posting this here to see if anyone has any thoughts...
