You need to check the plugs after the highway runs if possible. Some local tooling around on boost might cause this.
Dark or caked in soot?
How are your highway MPGs when you reset the SID at speed and temperature?
Starts easily hot and cold?
How old are the plugs?
How long have you been using 7ES?
Yes, 6ES will run fine, cleaner, but thought to produce less power.
Jeff and I [was] having good luck with the 7ES and we both had longish commutes like you.
7ES are known to run dark or foul in the stock variants. But the 7ES has shown more power on dyno runs. So we tried the 7ES with the MBC and MBC+A and had found that this worked quite well. And with higher boost, a cooler plug seems like a safer thing as well.
