Hey I have exactly the same car (with an automtic) that had almost the same problem minus the lights staying on a little while ago. Given the fact saab keys are on the console dirt, grime, and msot likely some coffee tend to fall into the keyhole and end up shortening the life of the ignition switch, thats the reason for the total shutdown. Aditionally it sounds as though there's something wrong with the lock cylinder. The chances of needing an ignition switch at 151k are 99% and I tend to think that the light problem you described is related. I believe the switch tself is $150 for just the electronic part not the cylinder I don't know how much the cylinder will run you. My only advice is to not go to a saab dealer for instalation
