I think that is misinformed. It implies that premium gas carries a different additive package than regular, and that has not been the case in many years. It also implies that the chemical "cleaning" components that may be in the gasoline would somehow survive the combustion process and pass through to the exhaust system where the oxygen sensor resides. And I can't think of anything that would explain why a 4 cylinder engine being "pushed hard for horsepower" (which is not the case with Saabs anyway) would contribute to the demise of the exhaust sensor. What you're buying when you purchase premium is increased resistance to pre-ignition (knocking) which, in a Saab, goes hand in hand with the ability optimize turbo boost and the resulting horsepower and fuel economy.
