I have used Konis in 3 different cars (VWs) and KYBs on 2 vehicles (a truck and an original VW beetle). All were great for their application, but the KYBs are harsh, especially in the cold. For the vehicles they were on, a trail beetle and a pickup carrying loads they were great.
That said, the Konis I had were wonderful for road cars. You could tune them for specific conditions and fine tune turn-in balance for different tires. My Viggen still has the stock struts, but I would never, ever hesitate to spring for Konis. BYW, I did have one on hte rear develop a knock, and Koni shipped a new pair with pre-paid packaging to mail the originals back. Not sure if that is current practice, but I was very impressed as they had the new ones to me in 2 days.
