Tranny noise only when A/C compressor engaged

Hello all, my 00 Viggen is being weird...whenever the a/c clutch is engaged, I can hear a very audible clacking noise (sounds like the throwout bearing almost)...it's most evident from the driver's wheel well (transmission is right there, duh). but if I hit ECON the sound immediate goes away.
I replaced the clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing/slave cyl, rear engine mount, rear main & input shaft seals all 7000mi ago (no problems since). I replaced the A/C compressor & receiver/dryer 4000mi ago (working fine since). I found a brake line that had come out of it's plastic holder, located under the ABS unit, but that did not fix the problem.
Like I said, it really sounds like an internal transmission sound, but directly related to the a/c clutch engagement.
Thanks for any/all input!
Seth
