have a '98 900S Turbo coupe with the non-ACC HVAC system.

For several years now, the A/C "cycling" has been, to me, strange in that it seemed rather "violent". I could definitely feel it kicking in (clutch?) and the power draw was noticable... slight dimming of lights, etc.

had my trusted indie look at it a few years back and i was told it was fine. continued to behave that way, but continued to work well... blew very cold etc. original parts, never recharged, etc.

yesterday, my wife came home and told me the a/c stopped blowing cold air. i confirmed that, and it also seems that the system itself is not engaging at all. pushing the a/c button does not result in any noticable change, in either air being blown or mechanical indications that the system is working.

i checked the fuses (at least the ones on the interior fuse panel) and they're fine.

Any suggestions as to what's up here? Is my clutch gone? compressor? maybe something simpler?
