How about conditioning the rotors? Best when rotors are new, but probably would help now...
(Find someplace where you can do this without being stupid in traffic.)
Brake REAL HARD (near lockup) from 50 to 10 but DO NOT STOP.
Drive around a few minutes & let them cool off.
Repeat maybe 10 times.
Try not to stop completely during the whole process. Clamping the brake pads tight on a hot rotor seems to put uneven deposits of pad material. That gives the rotor surface non-uniform friction around the surface. If you do this at first, the rotors seem like they tolerate normal driving & complete stops better.
