To engender annoying remarks from your passengers when traveling over speed bumps. "Did you just bottom out, your shocks are blown!"

But really it was because when SAAB was tearing around the SW USA desert back in like 1992 testing the NG they were finding the rocks were getting tosssed up and taking a toll on the rear steel brake lines. I removed my mudflaps because I don't rally cross on gravel enough to warrant even one more "bottom out comment from a passenger.\

Congrats on the SAAB, BTW you can not add a turbo to it ;)
