I was reading with earnest regardng the many postings recently on MAF/AMM. I have reason to believe my '99 9-3 is knocking/pinging, and th eboost gauge doesn't go all the way into the upper yellow/red (generally having issues, but don't we all?). I've been runing a K&N for a few years, and noticed some dirt has bypassed the filter and has gathered on the interior surface of the airbox. Does this year/model have a MAF, and where is it located? I will go back to the OE paper filter and what else can be cleaned/replaced to correct this?
Thanks in advance.
