Is this the Viggen engine?

What a crock! Not all engines with such filters have a problem. You cannot demonstrate cause and effect. Engines also fail this way with paper filters.

Same thing is seen on the 9-5 Aero engines.

The MAFs go off spec and the Viggen/9-5_Aero engines are sensitive to this, while other engine variants seem to adapt. MAFs can also be cleaned.

The #1 cylinder seems to have blown combustion gases past the head gastet. The head bolts from there may not be reliable. The head could be warped.

When this kind of detonation happens, stronger and heavier pistons will also break. I think that this has been discussed on the performance BB, they break engines all the time :)
