I replaced the passenger side drive shaft in my '02 93 a couple of years ago. I am assuming your car is put together the same as mine - I don't know if this is a safe assumption.

The "trick" to the job is to remove the snap ring that holds the driveshaft in the intermediate bearing. In all of the descriptions I found on both this site and other places on the web there was NO mention of this snap ring. I ended up breaking the bearing bracket trying to get the drive shaft out of it. Everyone said I just needed to keep working on it and the driveshaft would pop loose. I should have known better.

While looking at the driveshaft from under the car the shaft should pass through the center of bearing. On one side of the bearing there will be a rubber gaiter. You need to pull this gaiter back (just slide it up the driveshaft) and inside of it will be a snap ring. If I remember correctly (this was a couple of years ago) it is an internal ring 2 or 3 inches in diameter. I had a lot of trouble getting the snap ring out so I bought a fancy pair of snap ring pliers from Snap-On. My fancy new pliers popped it right out!

It's been long enough I hate to hazard step by step instructions. Looking back on it, it wasn't that difficult of a job, but there were a couple of gotchas that I couldn't find any hints on the web to get around.

Keep the list posted, I'm curious to hear if your car is put together the same as mine is.
