Hard to believe it has a new tranny at 40K. Also hard to believe that it only has 40K miles on it, being a '98. It's hardly broken in!
That being said, just do the regular maintenance and fix little things as they come up. Watch fluid levels. I have 130K on a '97 900SE auto with no major problems. Check all the vacuum, boost, and crankcase vent hoses for leaks and cracks; fix as needed.
Putting on 25K a year should keep the car happy; I think what really kills these cars is short trips and low yearly mileage.
