Expected lifespan of new DIC?

I have a 2000 9-3 hatch with about 128k miles on it. The original DIC (black) failed back at around 60k+ miles and was replaced under an extended warranty I had purchased through AAA. I believe the original one was one of the ones that would have been covered in the Saab recall, but I had heard that the new ones were more reliable.
So, the new one also has about 60k miles on it now and a few months back I was getting CEL codes indicating either a problem with the spark plugs or the DIC (misfires, although I have not really noticed this in how the car handled). At the same time, the crank position sensor had gone bad, so after I had that replaced, I changed the spark plugs (NGK) and had the CEL codes cleared.
Now, every few weeks, the CEL comes on again...although there is no apparent change in how the car runs. When I get the codes checked, it is the same misfire codes indicating spark plug or DIC problems. Is this likely early warning of another upcoming DIC failure? How long are these supposed to last? Is there something else I should check? Or is it time to order a DIC from eeuroparts and keep it in the hatch?
