I went to the dealer that I got the Saab at (they've done all the recall work on it and a few other things, before I started to get in the DIY mood again- tired of waiting and paying too high a price for a fix that would have to be redone).

The parts guy put in my VIN and printed out both part numbers and associated line drawings (the one that Ron posted in a prior post, Nahum's is for the 2001, but the 2000 line drawing shows part 9171497 as a "pressure sensor" on the driver's side of the engine). Both printouts list the B205 engine. At eeuroparts and thesaabsite, they show both parts for the 2000 93- 9171497 as an "intake pressure sensor", and 9132374 as "MAP" sensor.

Since my CEL codes are 0106 MAP sensor, and the misfire codes (3000,301,1300, 1301) I figured the MAP sensor was the problem. I just couldn't find it.

I'm also wondering if it might be the AMM. Dealer replaced mine a 60K with aftermarket part (I didn't know that until I looked at the pics on europarts), and that might be the root cause- I have 130K on the car, and I replaced the DIC at 120K.

Since the CEL code was for the MAP sensor, I figured that is the part, it's also my dilemna since I can't find it and it may not exist as shown in the parts catalog. I think Swedecar/Nahum may be right and although both part numbers are shown, the 9171497 is the right part.

Anyone out there ever find a rectangular MAP sensor on a 00 model?
