I own three cars with turbo's. Only one, the 92/900 turbo has this sound. I checked the BPV posting and found it to be the hooter valve. It opens when the throttle is closed, allowing the turbo boost to be routed back to the intake so the compressor air from the turbo doesn't push/stall against the turbo impellers. Find the vacuum hose that goes to the BPV (back pressure valve) and disconnect it and plug it. Does the sound go away? I changed mine out with a good used one and still get this sound, only louder. Then test for this valve is just to suck on the valve vacuum diaphragm hose and see if it holds vacuum. If it does, then the valve is fine. Strange that I will get the noise after replacing the valve, but the 92/900 turbo just makes the noise and the other turbos don't. The most I read on the BPV was, some cars make the noise and others don't. It's really not a problem! The only other thing that I'm thinking of doing is to by a more expensive billet aluminum valve, but at over $150.00 dollars, I think I can live with the noise.
