Thanks for the link, that's very helpful.
On the passenger side, where I ran the speaker cables from the glovebox to the amp, I took off the panels from the door sills to expose the wire guides. The sill panels do slide off, but not easily, and I ended up breaking one of the plastic clips that hold the slides in place. Thankfully, there are three of these clips per panel and it stays on fine anyways. I was planning to run the power cable in the same way, except down the driver's side.
It just took me a few hours and some elbow grease to run the speaker wires to the back and pull up the carpet enough to route the wires through to the amp. The amp itself is mounted on the back of the 40 side of the rear seat using the 1.5" self adhesive velcro tape available at most home improvement places. The tape sticks to the amp and the velcro sticks to the seat-back carpeting. The velcro mounting works great, I'd recommend doing it this way if you haven't mounted the amp yet.
