I just completed this job. I was able to pry the old antenna out by using a board with a ½ inch hole in it placed on the base antenna. Be careful to use a wood wedge under the piece of wood that will distribute the force applied so that the car body does not get damaged. I then placed a washer on the antenna. Above the washer I used duck tape wrapped around the antenna. This created a leverage point between the wood and washer where I could pry the old antenna out. I used two nail pullers on each side of the antenna on the board and I was able to pry the old one out. The new one went in using the directions that came with the antenna. Hope this helps
