I have size 12 feet. Certain shoes and winter boots I hit the gas and brake pedals at the same time if not in the exact right position.
What I ended up doing was placing my heel on the floorboard in front of the brake pedal with the outside edge of the end of my right foot touching the gas pedal and shin near my knee hitting the center console. After 72,000 miles of driving this way I developed a problem with my right hip from in essence "rolling" my hip into an awkward position that put a lot of pressure on my hip joint. I had to stop driving the 9-3 as a daily commuter since I would get out of the car and limp when I walked.
Now driving a 2007 Volvo S-60 sport with no problems...can place the seat back far enough and enough legroom that makes me not miss the 9-3. I still take the 9-3 out on the weekends for some more spirited driving.
