Unless the gas is sloshing back to the split runoff a few gallons first. You do not have to siphon off the gas. Axle hides the tank so it may look like the neck is lower than it is but it is at the top of the tank. And with the car jacked up the gas will move away from the tank inlet. You'll be fine just take your time.
