Hey Rob,
I actually don't pick my viggen up for another week BUT i've had to do a headgasket on my former 9-5 so can speak from experience. It's really not too bad as long as you have some basic common sense. The DI cassette is no big deal to get out, only recommendation i have is when you go to take the valve cover off, make sure to buy a new valve cover gasket and half moons (little plastic/rubbery semi circles that are part of the seal between the valve body and the valve cover) for it as its better safe than sorry, also it can't hurt to get a tube of high temp silicon sealant and put a very light coat on as well. Best of luck and yes, i also have a desk job and it makes it that much more rewarding to go out and do it yourself!
