I have one car for storage with a 10k mile-old DI cassette. My other car will be driven, but in case something happens to its DI, I was thinking I could just take out the one from the other car and use it in the car that is being driven.

If I do this, is there any problem leaving one car without a DI cassette for a few months if it is not being used? (I doubt it, just making sure)

Also, if I buy a brand new DI....do I still need to ALSO buy a "spare" right away to be "safe"? (lots of $$..) If I do buy a spare, any specific orientation I should store it in?
