The slave cylinder is inside the bell housing and operates the clutch when pressure is created by the clutch master cylinder. If the slave cylinder is leaking, the sub-frame, transmission and assorted suspension components need to be removed to replace it. So, if you have a faulty slave cylinder, expect to pay $1000-$1500 to replace it. While you're at it, replace the clutch, TO bearing, trans shaft seals and input shaft seal... Ron
