Just FYI--
Been chasing low boost issue on Viggen. Problem solved! (Thanks to helpful posts on this bb...)
Problem was boost max'd out a dead center of yellow. Noticeably less enthusiastic performance. Otherwise car ran fine.
Turned out to be one or both of the following:
1) small diameter hose had fallen off nipple on TB (throttle body).
2) bad BCV (boost control valve).
Discovered the loose hose by removing the plastic lid around the oil fill. That lid looks nice but hides a zillion potential problems from view. The hose runs from front of throttle body over to a gizmo mounted to upper firewall in front of driver (except in UK or Oz!). I believe it's a solenoid for controlling the bypass valve.
The BCV may or may not have been OK. I damaged it during troubleshooting so bought a new one. And hey... the thing's only $50 and is a common source of boost issues.
Anyway, we're boosting again! Still not as high as I'd like, but as high as this car has ever been. This car has always topped out about 3/4 through the yellow, never quite hits the yellow/red break. But some are like that I guess.
