How the heck do I open this key fob (picture)?

I have no trouble opening the other two saab fobs i've had, but i almost break this one not knowing the procedure to open it. to make it easy to describe the procedure, i've numbered the photo starting with the hole at #1, and 8 points around the latch, so please refer to the numbers when saying pinch here or pry there or push that or rub this or pat that :)
