Driver's Seat TRim loose

I checked the threads here & didn't find anything. On my '99 9-3SE, with the memory driver's seat, the plastic housing the memory buttons has come loose & falling to the side. By feel it seems to be a single Torx® bolt holding it on. The clearance is short, and I cannot get the Torx set in the trunk to fit to loosen & re-attach. Do I need to remove the driver's seat to get the trim re-attached? Any particular worries about the air bag on the outside of the seat if I have to remove the seat?
