it is easy to isolate the purge valve and takes about five minutes. just disconnect the hose from the valve that goes to the pcv update hoes [which in turn lead to the throttle body] and put a cap over the 't' fitting on the pcv line. you can leave the purge valve line open to the atmosphere w/o any problems. go for a drive and then come home, reconnect it and bite the bullet for a new throttle body [!]...btw, i don't see the economics of using a rebuilt throttle body when you can buy new for $150 more. the TB is a known trouble spot on T7's and who knows how many miles a rebuilt is good for versus the 60-70k miles out of a new one...
