Hi Everyone,
I was hoping somoine or all of you can shed some light on a probllem I am having.
Back in March 2008, I went ahead and installed an aftermarket stereo for my 2001 9-3. During that time everything was perfect. Recently, however, I have developed a electrical noise through the speakers that can be heard when the car is running or when it is off. When the car is off and without the key in the ignition, I can hear popping noises when I activate something (i.e. stepping on the brake, using the power seats, turning on the lights, etc). When I place the key in the ignition and put it to the "On" position you can hear the current through the speakers. When it starts the electrical whine because exceesively loud.
I figured it was a bad ground isolated only to the stereo system and the aftermarket amplifiers. Everything seemed to be fine so I decided to isolate everything altogether by running a separate power cable directly to the battery and have a new ground. It still did not go away. I've swapped stereo head units and amplifiers and I still same intereference.
After a frustrating weekend, I am readyto give up and send to the Saab mechanic for further testing. Before I do , I am making one last attempt and throwing my problem into the forums to ask for help. If anyone has any solutions or more trouble shooting tips, I would appreciate it.
Please keep in mind that my wife uses this car as her daily driver, so she'll be on my back until this issue is resolved....Please help....please....
Thanks,
