Viggen boost pressure low

I've got a 2000 Viggen (92,000 miles) and for some time the boost pressure hasn't gone above half way into the yellow zone, using 93 octane fuel. Runs fine otherwise. Does the engine management computer adapt to one's driving style and adjust the max boost accordingly? I've been driving the car relatively easy for some time due to rising price of fuel (average mpg according to SID has been hovering around 30 this summer), so am wondering if that could result in low boost? If so, is there a way to re-program the computer memory to get full boost back again (short of going out and risking a ticket from the police)? I haven't checked out anything under the hood yet, like the mass airflow sensor. Thanks
