....it's called the 'rental car' feel!
Sorry Mike, there is no such thing as an auto trans that gives you the control of a manual. Take your foot off of the gas and you slow down....not coast. Punch and down shift only if you chose....none of that 'all show' stuff an auto. And best yet is when the tranny decides to shift for you in a the middle of a corner, or in slushy snow. Then there's the HP you lose with an auto and all that weird maintenance stuff of having screens cleaned, things adjusted and tightened, etc.
I like to control and feel my motor and since I've installed GS poly mounts for the transmission and the motor, filled the gearbox with Red Line MTL, it shifts pretty good. You're right, it's still no Bimmer but then I'm used to Saabs, right from a 1978 99 Turbo, an '86 SPG and now an '02 Viggen.
So no thanks, no auto box for me and god forbid a live with one for a while.....not if I can help it, besides I drive and don't use the phone or drink coffee...so the right hand is free to shift ; )
