BTW, have you check to see whether car is in limp-home mode? There is an excellent post on here on how to fix this.
As for the crankcase vent not looking snug -- in all the Saabs I have own they alway look not so snug but probably is snug enough.
Clean the PCV using mineral spirit and WD40. I use mineral spirit because its fairly effective in cutting grease but dries quickly and WD40 is for light lubrication. I saturated the PCV first with mineral spirit and shaked it well to loosen any debris within. I use rolled-up tissue to clean nipples. Then spray WD40, shake it out, and wipe off excess with tissue.
I clean my TB with mineral spirit. Clean the TB well. Removal all traces of soiling. I use pieces of a cut up T-shirt saturated with the mineral spirit. The easily accessible areas I clean using my fingers. The hard to reach corners I clean with a flat-head screwdriver wrapped by the saturated cloth. I clean both top and bottom of flap. I then use my screwdriver and cloth method to clean the wall of the TB. To control the flap, you can see an additional screwdriver. Take care not to damage the flap, though.
Do clean the TB nipples. When I did mine, there was quite a bit of build-up found. Since this is a hard to reach area, try a bent wire botton brush to clean them.
Tip for attaching vacuum hose:
1. using needle nose plyers will save much frustration.
2. use spit (yes spit) to lubricate the hose.
3. I install spring clamps on all hoses for added fit
Lastly, when cleaning the trottle body, remove as much is necessary to get the intake pipe out of the way. Particularly, remove the bolt under the BPC.
Hope this all helps.....
