Steven, good luck with removing the transmission. If you don't already have it, go to Dmytry's site:

http://photo.platonoff.com/Auto/

and download the transmission removal and installation procedures. I sprayed down the nuts on the turbo and 6 subframe bolts with penetrant and let them sit for a day. Right now, I have the 5-speed out of my '97 900 SE Turbo with a used one ready to go in Sunday when my son can be here. I made an engine support out of 4x4s. I notched the bottom piece on the table saw to fit in the fender groove. I used 1/2" threaded rod and put one above each engine lift point. I bought an 800 lb capacity transmission jack at Harbor Freight for $109 to be on the safe side. I had to make a template of the driverside of the transmission and bolt it on the jack to steady the transmission. My old transmission has a bearing problem on the input shaft. In any gear with the clutch pedal released, it makes a pretty good howl (not grind). I was able to back the rear of the car up on ramps and strap the rear wheels so they wouldn't roll forward. Then I jacked the car at the front/center jacking position and set the jackstands and each side. Just behind the jackstands I layed 2 wheel/tires under each side of the car to support it if anything bad happened. There is only about 1/4" between the top tire and bottome of the car. At each step in Dmytrys procedure, I stored all the associated nuts/bolts/etc. in a seperate baggy. That should make reassembly easier. I am in the process of replacing the axle seals, input shaft seal, shift rod seal and throw out bearing. I'll be 60 next month, so wish me luck... Ron
